At Heartland Box, we understand that most people have stacks and piles of photos and other media stored in several places. Digitizing old photos, videos, and movies frees up space while enabling easy sorting, categorizing, searching, and locating files at a moment’s notice when you wish to share them. Ordering one of our boxes from Heartland is an easy and affordable way to digitize photos, video tapes, and old movies.
If you order one of our boxes and then uncover a long forgotten favorite VHS in the attic or an antique photo of ancestors in an old photo album, it’s not necessary to wait and place another order later. It’s important to preserve fragile media before it fades or deteriorates so we don’t have an issue if you need to include a few extras after ordering — no reason to delay digitizing!
We’re happy to accommodate additional media you discover after ordering a box, as long as the count is fairly close and it fits in the shipping box. For example, let’s say you ordered our Decade digitizing box which includes transferring a total of 10 items. You can choose either 10 video tapes, 10 reels of home movie film, or a total of 300 photos, slides, or 35mm negatives in bundles of 10. If you ordered and paid for the box and then discovered 30 more photos, this would count as one extra bundle.
Inside your sturdy shipping box, you’ll find barcode stickers for your materials, a domestic UPS shipping label to send your box to our facility, and packing materials to make sure your irreplaceable memories travel safely. We make sure to include a few extra barcode stickers (five for the smaller boxes and 10 for larger) in the box so adding an extra tape, movie, or a bundle of 30 photos isn’t a problem.
After your box arrives at our state-of-the-art facility, our dedicated team of scanning professionals digitize all of your memories by hand and provide personalized updates every step of the way. Unlike some photo scanning services, we never outsource your memories and handle everything as if it belongs to us.
We track orders from start to finish, taking videos of your box being opened when it arrives, and again after your order is complete and packed up. In addition to every item in your order having a barcode, we weigh it to the gram to ensure nothing is missed.
As your add-on barcoded items are scanned, our system generates an email notifying you of the invoice for all of your add-on items. About three to four weeks later, you’ll receive perfectly preserved digital copies on a USB drive, digital download via the cloud, or a DVD. You can sit back and enjoy that favorite VHS movie or those 10 antique photos of relatives you never met, along with the rest of your order!
At Heartland Box, we truly love transforming old, fragile, and obsolete formats into forever digital memories and as such, always welcome extra ones!
